Dr Alvin Cham - General Surgeon

Mr Alvin Cham is a specialist Breast, Endocrine and Laparoscopic surgeon who is known for his commitment to minimally invasive surgery and outstanding patient care.

Mr Cham specialises in a wide range of procedures, including breast cancer surgery, thyroid surgery, obesity surgery, laparoscopic intra-abdominal procedures and complex hernia operations.

In addition to English, Mr Cham also speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. Patients who prefer to speak in either of these languages are most welcome to do so during their consultations.

Mr James Huang - Urologist


Mr James Huang is a consultant urological surgeon who is skilled in general urology, minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery.  James graduated from the University of Melbourne with Honours, and completed urology training in Victoria, obtaining his Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Thereafter, he completed an additional Sub-Specialty Fellowship in Urological Oncology at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, University of British Columbia, Canada, where he received additional training in all aspects of major oncology and minimally invasive treatment of cancers with advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. James is committed to providing individualised patient care, with an emphasis on patient engagement and prompt communication with GPs to ensure coordinated care.

Ms Nam Anavekar - Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Upon completion of her training, Ms Anavekar undertook an overseas fellowship in

both Switzerland and France. This was directed at gaining further experience and

a broader perspective in the fields of maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery,

rhinoplasty and aesthetic surgery. During this time, she had the opportunity to work

with internationally renowned surgeons including Pr Bernard Devauchelle and Pr

Sylvie Testelin, who were responsible for the first face transplant.

Throughout Ms Anavekar’s surgical career, she has maintained a keen interest in

research, having published numerous articles in plastic surgical journals, as well as

textbook chapters.

Dr Latika Cilly - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr. Latika Cilly is an obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Melbourne.

Dr. Latika is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

(RCOG)UK, Member of Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology

(ASCCP), Member of Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES),

Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and

Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

Her areas of interest are high risk obstetrics and minimal invasive surgery (also known

as keyhole surgery). She also has expertise in management of abnormal PAP Smears,

Mr Hai Bui - General & Laparoscopic, Upper GI Surgeon, Endoscopist.

Mr Hai Bui is a general surgeon with an interest in minimally-invasive and laparoscopic surgery.  His areas of specialty is in upper GI conditions including gastric and oesophageal cancers, GORD and bariatric surgery. He also routinely performs laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, perianal surgery, carpal tunnel release, varicose vein surgery, circumcision, vasectomy, skin lesions and ingrown toenails surgery. Mr Bui is also a consultant surgeon at the Western Health and the Werribee Mercy Hospital. He operates privately out of Western Private Hospital, John Fawkner Private Hospital and Epworth Hospital.


Mr Bui graduated from Melbourne University Medical School in 1996. He obtained his Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2006. Mr Bui is committed to providing a prompt and accessible surgical service to GPs for both their public and privately insured patients.


Dr Duncan Carradice -  Haematologist

Dr Duncan Carradice is a Haematologist committed to providing personalised clinical care for

disorders. He is dedicated to continuously improving care for patients residing in the West and

Duncan is a consultant Haematologist at Western Health, where his achievements to date

• lead involvement in setting up a satellite Haematology and chemotherapy service
(Sunbury Day Hospital) and expanding collaboration with existing services (Melton Health)

• establishing a Haematology tumour stream MDM (multi-disciplinary meeting)
• co-supervising an advanced trainee position in Haematology at Western Health.

As a laboratory Haematologist, Duncan is able to utilise his expertise in the accurate diagnosis
of all haematological disorders, routinely reviewing the blood films, bone marrow biopsies and
lymph node biopsies of his patients.

Private Hospital and private consulting rooms, in Eleanor Street, Footscray.

Duncan trained in Haematology in Christchurch, NZ and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital,
subsequently completing a PhD at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in molecular genetics.
His clinical interests are in lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma. He is a member of the ALLG low grade
lymphoma/CLL disease group.

Dr Chatwell Habana - Paediatrician

Dr Chatwell Habana completed university studies at  University College Dublin, Ireland. He is a  Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics & child Health). He offers general paediatric medical services for children from zero to 18 years of age. His special interest is in developmental disability and paediatric physical rehabilitation. 


He enjoys interacting with families and is passionate about health advocacy. His experience includes working in Paediatrics at tertiary hospitals both in Ireland and Australia. He started his Paediatric training in Dublin at Temple Street Children’s Hospital followed by Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Chatwell completed his paediatric training in Australia through Westmead Childrens Hospital, Sydney Childrens Hospital and Royal Childrens Hospital(RCH). Also spending time in paediatric departments at Bundaberg, Dubbo and Lismore. He also spent 2 years with the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS ) developing his rehabilitation skills.


Dr Habana enjoys a number of active hobbies including bush walking and off road driving, as well as interests in painting and music. He is also kept busy outside medicine by his three young children.

Mr Richard Pennington - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Richard Pennington is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb conditions from the shoulder to the hand as well as general orthopaedic conditions and trauma. He trained in London (UK) and has completed subspecialty fellowship training in Denver (USA), Melbourne and Sydney. He is dual accredited in both Australia and the UK and is happy to have settled in Victoria.

Mr Andrew Gogos- Neurosurgeon & Spine Surgeon

Mr Andrew Gogos is a neurosurgeon and spine surgeon based in Melbourne.  He is an expert in brain tumour and cranial surgery, having completed a prestigious brain tumour fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Mr Gogos is passionate about providing individualised care utilising the latest technologies and minimally invasive techniques to improve outcomes for his patients.  He has a special interest in treating patients with brain tumours (including glioma, pituitary tumours, schwannoma, meningioma and metastases), trigeminal neuralgia and Chiari malformation.

Dr Lipi Shukla- Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr. Lipi Shukla is a Melbourne trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Lipi completed her plastic surgery training rotating through all the major tertiary centres in Victoria, including The Alfred, St Vincent’s, Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s hospitals. Mr Rodney Jacobs - General Surgeon

Rod Jacobs attended Melbourne University where he played rugby and in his spare time studied for degrees in Science and Medicine. He undertook clinical training, residency and surgical training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital gaining his surgical fellowship in 1993. He then worked as a surgeon in Sydney and London before returning to Melbourne in 1997. He has been seeing and treating patients in the Sunbury, Gisborne and Riddells Creek area for nearly 20 years.


Specialising in endoscopy, gastrointestinal and hernia surgery, working in both the public and private systems, he holds appointments with the Western Healthcare and Mercy Hospital networks and the Epworth Hospital group,

Mr. Jacobs has particular expertise in hernia surgery, he regularly conducts training courses for other surgeons on laparoscopic and open hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr David Tsang - Cardiologist

Dr David Tsang graduated from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, with a Bachelor of Science in 2000. During his time in Canada, he received several scholarships and awards, including being one of the top fifteen students in the Province of British Columbia.

His interests include social determinants of health, health policy, chronic disease and risk factor management.

He completed his advance cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a Specialist Cardiologist in 2014, he completed additional training in cardiac imaging, specialising in stress testing and echocardiography. He currently holds a public appointment as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Western Hospital and Sunshine Hospital. He is also a part time Clinical Teacher for the University of Melbourne Medical School, an Education Supervisor for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and is involved in teaching doctors who are training to become internal medicine specialists.

Dr Kelly Wright - Geriatrician

Dr Kelly Wright is a geriatrician who specializes in the general health of people aged over 65. She is available for comprehensive consultation to review all health problems and medications. She has an interest in preventative medicine, polypharmacy, memory concerns, falls and osteoporosis. She has extensive experience with dementia management and the complications associated with it. Dr Wright is available for home visits and nursing home consultations.


Dr Wright completed her FRACP in Melbourne at St Vincent’s Hospital and Western Health Services. She has worked in Bristol, UK and the Townsville Hospital in North Queensland before commencing her private practice in Melbourne. She has interests in diving, travelling and running when she is not running after her 4 sons aged less than 5 years old.

Mr Craig Mills - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Craig Mills is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon

who attends Sunbury regularly and can be seen at VMC.

He trained in Australia, Hong Kong, UK and the USA.

He offers arthroscopic, reconstruction  and replacement surgery for shoulder,

 hip and knee. He can offer stem cell treatments and cartilage preserving replacement

where appropriate. He is trained in the latest approaches and Navigation procedures.

He worked in the public system for over 20 years and is very approachable about

all joint problems.

Dr Brendan Flaim - Cardiologist

Brendan studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne and undertook his Cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, including a Fellowship in Echocardiography.

He has public hospital appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. At St Vincent’s (public) Hospital his duties include providing transoesophageal echocardiogram imaging during structural heart interventions such as percutaneous valve implantation and closures of septal defects (holes in the heart), as well as general heart ultrasound reporting. Dr Flaim also works at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, providing stress testing, and is involved again in providing imaging support to cardiologists performing structural heart and rhythm treatment procedures.

Having spent the last few years concentrating on cardiac ultrasound, Brendan is pleased to be returning to consulting cardiology and joining the team at One Heart.

Dr Zenia Chow- Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon

Dr Zenia Chow is Australian dual fellowship trained Otolaryngologist Head and Neck and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.

Zenia has completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with honours after obtaining a full academic scholarship at the University of Melbourne.  Initially, Zenia trained at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and then completed ENT training in Perth and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.

Dr Chow has had experience in Head and Neck and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery after completing 3 Clinical Fellowships.  She completed a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship recognised by the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (AAFPS) in Perth.  Following this, she completed Head and Neck and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowships at the University of Virginia, USA. In addition, she spent time furthering her skills with world leaders in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington USA.

Mr Camdon Fary - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Camdon Fary is a Melbourne based Orthopaedic surgeon who sub-specialises in hip and knee arthroscopy, sports surgery and joint replacement.

Cam completed his surgical fellowship training in Melbourne in 2009. He then spent a total of two years in Lyon, France and Oxford, UK sub specialising in hip and knee joint surgery. Returning to Australia in 2011 he completed further training in hip arthroscopy and anterior hip replacement under Mr. John O’Donnell.
Cam has a keen interest in the latest medical technologies and clinical research. In the ten years since completing his training, he has observed rapid and significant changes; including the emergence of new technologies that assist both the surgeon and patient to achieve the best outcomes. To keep abreast of these changes, he is undertaking a PhD at the University of Melbourne to assess these technological advances and how they may optimise patient outcomes. His research focusses on robotic surgery, sensor assisted total knee replacement, continuous biometric monitoring and pre-rehabilitation programs to better prepare patients for surgery.

He holds a public appointment at Western Health and is an Associate Director at the Epworth Musculoskeletal Clinical Institute.

Mr Sina Babazadeh - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Sina Babazadeh is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in wrist, knee and hip surgery.  Sina completed his surgical training in 2018 and subsequently completed fellowship in Barcelona, Spain in 2018.

His interest in wrist surgery was solidified after a fellowship with world-renowned wrist surgeon, Professor Marc Garcia-Elias, publishing and investigating new techniques and writing a book chapter on the subject.

Sina also has a keen interest in knee surgery, specifically the arthritic knee. He spent 4 years completing a PhD in knee replacement surgery and published numerous articles about the subject. Current interests include refining knee replacement surgery, aiming for rapid, painless recovery and also keenly pursuing novel management options for early arthritis, without knee replacement surgery.

Sina is also keenly involved in hip arthritis and hip replacement surgery using the latest evidence-based techniques to improve recovery, function and longevity. He has had research collaborations world-wide and spent time in Belgium, Switzerland and Italy fine-tuning his technique.

Outside of surgery, Sina has a keen interest in research, anatomy, philosophy, history and bad puns.

Dr Alex Tucker- Geriatrician

Dr Alex Tucker developed his interest in geriatric medicine while studying for his medical degree at the University of Tasmania. He completed basic physician training at the Royal Hobart Hospital before undertaking specialist training in geriatric medicine at Monash Health and Western Health, including sub-specialty placements in community and rural aged care, rehabilitation, movement disorders and mental health.

Dr Tucker has extensive experience working in the community and residential aged care settings and is passionate about delivering comprehensive care to patients outside hospitals to maintain their independence and quality of life. His areas of interest include memory (dementia and delirium), falls, polypharmacy, movement disorders, palliative care, and chronic disease management in older people.

In his spare time, Dr Tucker enjoys exploring the outdoors with his young family.

Dr Kalyani Tharmarajah- Geriatrician

Dr Kalyani Tharmarajah completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne before working at Austin and Northern Health as a junior doctor. She undertook her physician training at Austin and Northern Health before specialising in Geriatric Medicine rotating also through Bendigo and Western Health. She is currently completing a Diploma in Palliative Medicine at Western Health which will complement her current skill set.

She has had particular interest in dementia assessment and management and psychogeriatric medicine. She was also privileged to be a part of the COVID-19 response to outbreaks in aged care facilities in the Western suburbs. Dr Tharmarajah values holistic, patient-centred care incorporating Choosing Wisely principles of high-value, low-cost care.

Outside of work Dr Tharmarajah enjoys performing and teaching Indian classical dance and has performed at various events across Melbourne. She also has a keen interest in CrossFit and Agatha Christie novels.
